Geo-Economic Policy, however is not just about Financial Policy.
'ECONOMIC GROWTH' IS AN OXYMORON, IN AN ECOLOGICAL, PARTICULARLY ENERGY RESOURCE FINITE 'ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT'.
INDUSTRIAL ECONOMY IS BASED on the quality of available ENERGY AND THE PARTICULAR NET ENERGY RATIO OF THE AVAILABLE ENERGY.
The world has passed PEAK OIL, and it doesn't matter if there are still 20 trillions of barrels of oil, somewhere under the Atlantic or Artic; if the energy ratio of producing each barrel of oil, requires more energy than shall be produced.
ALL OF THESE FINANCIAL PUNDITS GOING ON ABOUT THIS FINANCIAL CRISIS, EITHER REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE, OR ARE TOO IGNORANT, OR IN DENIAL, OF THE REALITY OF ENERGY AS THE FOUNDATION OF ANY AND ALL INDUSTRIAL ECONOMIES.
Anyway, that's my opinion; I don't mind others disagreeing; I just find the addiction desperation for the illusion that this is only some minor little financial fiat currency central banking problem, rather than a fundamental ECONOMICS BASED ON ENERGY RESOURCES SYSTEMIC ANALYSIS one, rather sad.... Sorta like watching addicts refuse to acknowledge their addiction..
For those who don't know much about energy and it's relationship to the economy, and want a comprehensive economics 101 crash course, that would probably cost you 7 years of academic speak BS, and about $400,000 from Yale Business School; you can get the same fundamentals, in about 8 hours from Chris Martenson's Economics, Energy & Environment Crash Course.

I live in downtown Montreal, located in a province where almost 100% of electrical power is generated by renewable hydro, in a country with huge oil reserves. I don't own a car. I recycle. But I have no intention of going off and raising chickens and waiting for the End of the World, either.
The world is awash with energy, more than we can ever use, from sun, wind, water, geothermal, nuclear, fossil and more. There is no "shortage," just a shortage of commitment and vision.

When debts and deficits run amuck, why dont our leaders just slow down, take a breather, and focus on finding a more stable path?
Your answers may be varied. But if you trace back through the chain of cause and effect, you will always return to one single, overriding factor: The population explosion colliding with finite resources. More mouths to feed. More demand. More pressure to perpetuate growth. More inflation.
From 'whom', do you suppose this 'PRESSURE' comes to perpetuate 'economic-growth' and 'population growth'; and consequently, the population explosion colliding with finite resources?
Somehow, I don't think it's any of the individuals you are so enthusiastically criticising? Is it?
Might it be accurate to conclude that the junkscience is YOUR OWN?

It's what I call the lack of ignorance about Exponential Yewgenics (exponential-yewgenics.co.nr): the political and economic consequences of as Albert Einstein said "The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function."
And so about 98% of us go along, uneducated about exponential functions, and accordingly don't apply them to population issues, energy, water and arable land resources, etc; and then neither do we know that the February 1986 Report of the Vice President's Task Force on Combating Terrorism, chaired by Vice President George Bush, Sr. concluded that the root cause of terrorism was the exponential functions of overpopulation colliding with scarce resources.

So, as population pressures increase, so does the need to find solutions for the population pressures and squabbles over scarce resources; and since the populace prefer not to address root causes (have less babies, and use resources considering their scarcity); solutions ranging from biological warfare depopulation via AIDS to filling the FEMA concentraction camps, with excess to be culled population and removing their valuables, and practicing some LEBENSRAUM ARBEID MACHT FREI.... depopulation...
I am not condoning it, mereley stating an observation from studying history; and human behaviour, and humans (except for a few Scandinavian countries) continued REFUSAL to encourage negative or zero population growth, and respectful treatment for natural resources such as oil, water, etc...
Sometimes we need to take a look at the bigger picture; if we are serious about addressing the issues.
